Protect Migrant Children

In response to the Trump Administration detaining minors seeking asylum in cage-like facilities at our southern border, a summer evening protest was held at the Lovett Library in the Mt. Airy Neighborhood of northwest Philadelphia. A few days later, coinciding with Tisha B’Av, a Jewish day of mourning, the Philadelphia Jewish community called a large protest rally on Independence Mall, drawing analogies to the Holocaust – “Never Again.” Ironically, over the event, on the nearby National Museum of Jewish History, hung a banner with the words of George Washington: “Happily the Government of the United States…gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance.”
